St Michael’s School, as a Catholic Primary School, recognises the uniqueness of each student.
The Sisters of St Joseph founded our school in 1921 with the aim of educating the whole person. We continue to strive to do this by offering varied educational activities.
Enrolment into the school therefore expresses a commitment by parents to fully support religious values, school policies, practices and activities. This commitment also extends to the Parents and Friends’ Association.
In accepting an offer of enrolment, parents agree to pay all school fees and charges by the due date. If genuine financial need exists, payment plans are available after discussion with the Principal.
At all times the Principal may enrol a student where it is in the pastoral interests of that family, regardless of all other factors. Such a decision would be made with appropriate consultation (eg The Parish Priest, The Catholic Education Office).
Choosing the right education for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.
As parents, you have a choice - and the right - to offer your child the best education available.
For more than 90 years, St Michael’s School has offered families a nurturing, encouraging and safe environment for their children to learn, achieve and grow from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Staff deliver high-quality education supported by excellent facilities and 21st Century technologies, as students’ varied interests and abilities are catered for across a broad curriculum and supportive learning environment.
St Michael’s School offers a unique educational experience, which forms the child or young person as a person of integrity, compassion, faith and wisdom. St Michael’s School also work closely with the Parish to enhance in students a capacity to make sense of their world, to make judgements and to recognise the uniqueness of others within a faith community.
St Michael’s School has a supportive community of teachers, parents, P&F committees, clergy, parishioners, and support staff who work together to focus on students; encouraging success, promoting discipline, supporting creativity and instilling compassion. This means that St Michael’s School doesn’t just teach religious studies; it seeks to develop spirit, mind, body and character and cultivate Gospel values that support lives filled with joy, endeavour and hope in the future.
St Michael’s School has a commitment to focusing on each individual child’s ability. It offers a unique array of educational, creative, sporting and formation opportunities for students. Parents and students are invited to visit the school to see the fantastic opportunities that are available.
Finally, St Michael’s School offers peace of mind to parents; knowing they’ve made the right choice and the best investment for their child’s future. It is because of this and the many opportunities available to students that we believe choosing St Michael’s, is the right choice to make.
No. St Michael’s School is open to all who want to share its educational goal, inspired by Christian principles. In accordance with our enrolment policy, preference is given to students who are baptised Catholic. However, we are open to all who wish to be guided in their education by the principles and teachings of Christ.
All families and their children, Catholic or non-Catholic, are invited to have a Catholic education but must be willing to participate in the religious life of the school. With this invitation there is welcome.
